The NDHM is a scheme launched by Government of India to make a digitally viable healthcare system across the nation. There are certain features of this program as:
- Unique healthcare ID for every citizen. An app and/or website to maintain the healthcare ID for a doctor.
- Digital ID to hold all health-related data related to every individual. Voluntary participation of citizens in the scheme.
- Every health ID will be linked to a health data manager. With consent, data will be shared between practitioners and patients and this will be facilitated through an app/website.
- There will be Digi doctors providing services across the country as part of this digital healthcare system. A digital signature will be attached to a prescription sent to a location far from their current location.
