1 Mins read

India’s prime minister launched the National Digital Health Mission on September 27, 2021. This pilot project was announced on 15th August 2021. This mission is now known as Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission. It is an important and historic initiative that aims to develop the digital healthcare infrastructure of the country.

With NDHM, a solid foundation for digital healthcare infrastructure is built. As part of the project, the gap among different stakeholders in India’s healthcare sector will also be bridged digitally. As a government body, NDHM will focus on implementing the program on its principle guidelines. Under this, every individual will get a health card that has their details and health records. As all data is saved digitally, the patient and practitioner will be able to witness everything. This will also ensure a stable and well-structured healthcare system across states.

The government of India is aiming to build a digital healthcare ecosystem under the umbrellas of the National Health Authority, the National Digital Health Mission & the Ministry of Health, and Family Welfare.
