Different Modes of Delivery in Telemedicine

1 Mins read

With the rapid evolution of telemedicine post-Covid, the telemedicine industry is still finding its way between different modes of delivery. In the Business-to-Business (B2B) model, many providers are already well established and deeply entrenched in IT platforms and solutions for the medical and hospital industries. They are rooted in the broad ecosystem of hospitals, pharmacists, medical services, and insurance providers and are experienced in providing telecommunication solutions and platforms for secure data exchange. A B2B2C model is favored because Telemedicine services provided through employer wellness funds help employers save money on unnecessary hospital visits.

Then there is the Business-to-Customer (B2C) model wherein a patient directly reaches out to a healthcare professional or vice versa. The B2C model tends to have a simple structure and, in most cases, caters to a broad range of non-emergency illnesses through distance consultations. In response to the pandemic, many B2C providers have developed their own solutions that include discounts or subscription models.
