An Indian startup Clinikk is aiming to provide primary care along with risk protection for 600 million citizens. These are the people who don’t fit into the lowest economic bracket of 500 million people covered under Ayushman Bharat or the top 50 million with access to premium healthcare.
Clinnik runs on a subscription model that combines primary healthcare, telehealth, and insurance to create a consolidated experience for the customers. For a monthly subscription of Rs. 300, the 1,10,000 subscribers can access teleconsultation with a doctor if it’s a small health issue and an insurance cover for cashless hospitalization in case of an emergency. Clinnik has five primary care centers in Bengaluru and is partnered with 6600 hospitals for hospitalization. The company has protocols in place for triaging 85% of the health issues encountered. Hence, preventative care is delivered since many health concerns are dealt with early with teleconsultations decreasing the need for hospital visits or admissions.
