Doctor Insta is a Gurgaon-based venture founded in 2015. The company provides online consultations through its application- Doctor Insta. Every day around 1000 consultations take place on the app. To understand the company’s business model, we’ll look at five parameters:

–           Focus of care: delivery of primary care and online doctor consultations with general and specialist physicians (pediatrics, dermatology, gynecology, psychology, psychiatry, sexology, etc.)

–           Affordability: Charges Rs. 400 per consultation and largely caters to the middle-class population.

–           Business Model: The company impanels doctors who get a fixed fee for each video consultation. The company has an asset-light model, that is highly scalable but requires significant marketing expenses. Quality control can be challenging since the company is primarily a technology provider, while the quality of care depends on the service provider.

–           Technology- Mobile app with video consultation feature, appointment booking, and patient record maintenance.

–           Team: An experienced and well-networked management team.
