Copenhagen Paediatric Emergency (CoPE) is an application specializing in Paediatric care. The app was founded in Denmark and released in 2013 on Android and Apple platforms. It is now available worldwide and has a current user base of over 5000 people. The subscription to the application ranges from $0.99- to $11.
CoPE was designed to prepare clinicians in managing acute life-threatening situations involving pediatric patients. There are 31 guide sheets available on the app, with each sheet corresponding to 1 kg of body weight. So, ranging from a newborn (3kg) to 10 years of age (33kg), one just needs to enter the age and weight of the patient, and the corresponding guide sheet is presented. Depending on the result, information on normal physiological values is displayed.
Additionally, the app will recommend the necessary equipment for A-B-C (Airway, Breathing, Circulation) stabilization as well as drugs, doses, and fluid boil. Apart from that, guidelines from European Resuscitation Council regarding Newborn Life Support and Paediatric Advanced Life Support are available for quick reference.
