Another private entity that is radically reshaping the deployment of Tele-ICU services in the country is Springer Healthcare based out of Gurugram. Springer Tele-ICU facilitates remote ICU monitoring of patients using standardized protocols to provide 24X7 monitoring, assessment, and support.
Springer uses intensive EMR, alert systems, and audio-visuals, and gathers necessary data from the ICU devices like the ventilator and monitor. The doctors and nurses located at different ICUs are trained in basic critical care and all the ICU machines are connected to the main command center. The remote specialists at the center then analyze the collected data and accordingly advise the doctors and nurses regarding the best course of action.
To strengthen ICU care during covid-19, Springer teamed up with the governments of Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Presently, Springer Tele-ICU services are available in 25 districts of the country, and some regions of Nepal and Bangladesh.
