Apollo Hospitals has been a global pioneer in the field of telemedicine with over 20 years of experience. India’s pilot telemedicine project in 2001 involved linking the Apollo Rural Hospital in Aragonda village to Chennai’s Apollo Hospital with ISRO’s help.

Today, Apollo TeleHealprovidesing quality healthcare to urban and rural communities by offering varied services such as Tele Consultations, Tele Cardiology, TeleRadiology, Tele-ICU, Tele-emergency, etc. With more than 800 telemedicine centers and over 16.5 million teleconsultations, Apollo Hospital has created the largest multi-specialty telemedicine network across South Asia. Leveraging the power of technology and innovation, Apollo has outlined its mission to deliver quality healthcare to the remotest patient.

In 2018, the government launched Social Endeavor for Health and Telemedicine (SEHAT) with Apollo Hospitals aiming to connect 60,000 Common Service Centers to a common network. The focus is on increased access to telehealth through teleconsultation and diagnostic services.
