We all live in a digital age where AI is a part of everyday life. We cannot deny its existence in day-to-day functioning. However, this fast adoption raises a plethora of ethical questions. As AI systems can make decisions that can affect individuals and society, we must ensure that these decisions align with the values and principles that we follow.
Some of the ethical concerns are, not limited to, privacy trade-offs while using AI-driven applications, the morality of autonomous vehicles’ decision-making in life-or-death situations, and the effect of AI-based surveillance on civil liberties. As a community, one must identify these challenges and opportunities to help us gain an ethical compass to use artificial intelligence in our everyday lives.
In fact, this is a risk that artificial intelligence carries with itself for every industry it is used in. One must always ensure that the right guidelines are followed when implementing AI models into their systems.
