While AI is an assisting sector for the healthcare division, there still are various challenges it faces today. Some of these challenges are a limitation too. In the bird view, these are the challenges:
- Data Governance: AI thrives on data, and yet a lot of people are not comfortable in sarong medical data. This data-related limitation is a big threat to AI.
- Algorithm’s Transparency: The algorithms need to be transparent so that one can acquire all related licenses. For that, a core understanding of the algorithms is a must.
- Electronic Records: Even today, most data is stored in pen and paper versions. Such fragmented information needs a structure and proper collection method. Only when this happens, personalisation is possible.
- Data Silos: The industry is still not embracing the power of data silos. We need to change the way we say the use of data in the long term. Only then, we can work on products and services in the healthcare industry.
- Experts: There are data science experts for AI, but most of them do not understand the healthcare business. It is a major challenge as they do not have in-depth industry knowledge.
