Government-related Initiative- e-Sanjeevani

1 Mins read

‘E-Sanjeevani’ and ‘E-Sanjeevani OPD’ are two telemedicine service platforms created by the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-CAD) in November 2019. E-Sanjeevani growth and adoption are boosting the digital health ecosystem in India by bridging the healthcare delivery gap in rural and urban India. The two-part model constitutes:

  • e-Sanjeevani AB-HWC– Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, a doctor-to-doctor telemedicine system is implemented that provides teleconsultation services in the 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centers (HWC). In March 2022, a milestone of 3 crore teleconsultations was achieved by following a ‘Hub-and-Spoke’ model, wherein a beneficiary at an HWC (hub) is virtually connected to a doctor/specialist at a tertiary healthcare center (spoke).
  • e-Sanjeevani OPD– Launched in response to the Covid pandemic that severely restricted healthcare access for people, e-Sanjeevani OPD provides patient-to-doctor digital health services to the citizens at their homes. More than 3 million people have downloaded the mobile app for this service.
